2. General Information on Data Processing

I process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and to deliver my content and services. Processing is carried out on the basis of the legal permissions provided by the GDPR.

The legal bases for processing are in particular:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – Performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – Legitimate interests

3. Hosting and Server Log Files

This website is hosted by Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Strato processes data under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. When you visit the website, the server automatically stores server log files transmitted by your browser.

These include:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing device
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

These data are not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and uninterrupted operation of the website). Non-anonymised IP addresses are retained for no longer than seven days. Other technically necessary log data are automatically deleted in accordance with Strato AG’s requirements.

4. Technically Necessary Cookies and Sessions

When you use the contact form, a technically necessary PHP session is used. It contains a randomly generated security token and a timestamp to prevent misuse of the form. The session generally ends when you close your browser. No analytics, marketing, or other non-essential cookies are used. The legal basis for accessing your device is Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG; the processing of personal data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. SSL Encryption

For security reasons, this website uses SSL encryption (indicated by the https:// prefix in your browser’s address bar). This means that data you transmit to this website cannot be read by third parties.

6. Contact by Email or Contact Form

If you contact me by email or using the contact form, I process your email address, name, message, selected subject and, where provided, telephone number. When you use the contact form, confirmation that you have read this privacy policy, as well as technically necessary session and anti-spam data, are also processed. The data are used solely to process and respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to taking steps before entering into a contract and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).

Strato AG is used as a processor for hosting and sending contact enquiries via SMTP. Where the enquiry constitutes business correspondence, the data are retained for ten years. Otherwise, they are deleted once the enquiry has been conclusively handled, provided no statutory retention obligations apply. Confirmation of the privacy policy merely documents that it has been read and does not constitute consent to the processing of the enquiry.
